This site is operated by Brooks Venters (Brooks Venters Marketing), an independent ecommerce marketing consultant based in San Diego, California. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and what happens to it.
The short version
I run a small consulting practice, not an ad network. The only information I actively collect is what you type into the contact form. There are no advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, and no data is sold or shared with advertisers.
What I collect
Information you give me
When you submit the contact form, I collect the name, email address, store or website URL, and message you enter. This is emailed to me and stored in the site database so I can reply to you.
Information collected automatically
- Site analytics. This site uses Jetpack Stats, provided by Automattic, to count page views and see which pages are read. It records information such as your IP address, browser, and the pages you visit, and sets cookies to distinguish repeat visits.
- Server logs. The hosting provider (GoDaddy) keeps standard server logs including IP addresses and request times, for security and troubleshooting.
Third-party resources
Some page assets are loaded from third parties, which means your browser contacts them directly and they receive your IP address:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — the Inter typeface
- Cloudflare cdnjs — the animation library used for page effects
- Automattic / Gravatar — profile images and Jetpack functionality
What I do not do
- I do not run advertising or remarketing pixels on this site. There is no Meta Pixel, Google Ads tag, or TikTok pixel here.
- I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- I do not use your contact form submission to add you to a marketing list without asking.
Why I collect it
Contact form details are used solely to respond to your enquiry and, if we work together, to deliver the services we agree. Analytics and server logs are used to understand which pages are useful and to keep the site secure and working.
How long it is kept
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as they are useful for the enquiry or an ongoing client relationship, and reviewed periodically. You can ask me to delete yours at any time. Analytics data is retained according to Automattic’s standard retention.
Cookies
This site sets cookies for site analytics (Jetpack Stats) and, if you are a logged-in administrator, for WordPress session management. There are no advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how it is used. If you are in the EU or UK, these rights come from the GDPR. If you are a California resident, they come from the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any of them, email me and I will action it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS. Contact form submissions are transmitted encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security, but I keep the amount of data collected deliberately small.
Children
This site is aimed at business owners and is not directed at anyone under 16. I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
